Drum Corps International World Championships, the 'Super Bowl of marching arts', with prelims, semifinals and finals at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Drum Corps International brings the DCI World Championships to Lucas Oil Stadium from August 12 to 14, 2027. It's the end of the summer drum and bugle corps season, and it's billed as the 'Super Bowl of marching arts.'
The whole thing takes place over three days, and the schedule is built around a knockout format. The prelims kick things off, followed by the semifinals, and then the finals. Each round cuts the field down until only the top corps are left on the final night. If you've never seen it, it's a lot like a tournament: the more days you stick around, the smaller the group gets and the higher the stakes climb.
It's a massive operation. More than 40,000 corps members descend on Indianapolis for the event, so the city fills up with brass, percussion, and color guard from all over. The scale of it is part of the drawโhundreds of performers on the field at once, all moving in tight formation while playing through their programs.

Because it's a three-day sequence, you can catch the full arc from the wide-open prelims to the final showdown. The championships run August 12 through 14 at Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis.
