Free live concert by the string quartet Ensemble Narae at the Haughville branch of the Indianapolis Public Library, part of the Circulating Sound Concert series.
Ensemble Narae plays the Haughville Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Tuesday, November 10, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. It's part of the Circulating Sound Concert series, which brings live music by local artists to the Central Library and branches across the system, programming a variety of musical styles, genres, and communities from across Marion County.
Ensemble Narae is a quartet whose members play most of their time in the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, billed as world-class musicians. Because they're usually on the symphony stage, this is a chance to hear them in a much smaller, more neighborhood setting.
The Haughville Branch is the longest continuously operating branch in the IndyPL system. It opened on the city's east side in 1896, moved to the Haughville village after 1897, and its current 12,000-square-foot building on West Michigan Street opened in 2003. The concert is made possible in part by The Indianapolis Foundation Library Fund, through a grant to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
