Concert by folk troubadour Charlie Parr, with his 2024 album 'Little Sun', at HI-FI Indy in the historic Murphy Arts Center.
Charlie Parr plays HI-FI on Saturday, November 22, with doors opening at 7 PM and the show starting at 8 PM. The night is presented by MOKB Presents.
Parr is a Minnesota-born guitarist, songwriter, and interpreter of traditional music who has put out 19 albums over two decades. He's known for playing up to 275 shows a year, a folk troubadour who lives on the road between dates and writes and rewrites his songs as he plays them. That's a lot of time on the road, and it's where he does most of his work.
His 2021 album Last of Better Days Head was his first with Smithsonian Folkways and put his lyrical craftsmanship and guitar mastery front and center. His 2024 release Little Sun weaves together stories celebrating music, community, and nature. Between the two, you get a sense of what he's about: the songwriting and the guitar work are the main things, and the songs tend to circle back to people and the world around them.
