Butler Theatre's 90-minute student production of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, directed by Constance Macy, with a matinee for area schools.
Butler Theatre is bringing Romeo & Juliet to Clowes Memorial Hall on Friday, February 19, 2027. It's William Shakespeare's most famous play, directed by Constance Macy, and it runs 90 minutes.
If you've never seen it, the story is the one you already know: two teenagers from feuding families—the Montagues and the Capulets—fall in love in secret. That forbidden romance sets off a chain of tragic events that eventually forces their grieving parents to face the true cost of their ancient grudge. It's a heavy one, and it's the central piece of the production.
There are two ways to catch it. The main performance is Friday evening at 7:30 PM, and there's also a student matinee at 10:30 AM that morning, staged for area schools. If you're coming for the evening show, you'll be seeing the full run of the play in one go.
