Bilingual storytime session in Spanish at the Fort Ben Branch branch of the Indianapolis Public Library.
Fort Ben Branch is hosting a bilingual storytime session on Saturday, December 19, from 10:30 to 11:00 AM. It's part of the branch's Story Time / En Español / Bilingual programming, so it's a bilingual session in Spanish. If you've got little ones and want to get them around Spanish, this is a good, low-pressure way to do it.
It's worth knowing a bit about the space you're heading to. Fort Ben Branch is a 22,000-square-foot branch of the Indianapolis Public Library, and it sits on land that was decommissioned and transitioned from the U.S. military to the City of Indianapolis back in the 1990s. It's in a high-traffic community with good public transport access, so it's an easy trip. Inside, there are community meeting spaces and study rooms, and outside you'll find walk-up, bike-up, and drive-up material return points. One of the more interesting things about the building is its rooftop solar system, which provides 80% of the branch's electricity. It's also the first library branch in Indiana to become a Certified Autism Center, with international accreditation through the IBCCES.

The session is made possible by The Indianapolis Foundation Library Fund through a grant to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation, which is why these kinds of programs keep running. It's a short, half-hour session, so it fits easily into a Saturday morning without taking over the whole day. You'll find it at Fort Ben Branch, 9330 East 56th Street, Indianapolis, IN, 46216, on Saturday, December 19, from 10:30 to 11:00 AM.
