aurorawave

aurorawave plays HI-FI on Saturday, December 5, with O.N.I opening. The show is presented by MOKB Presents and is open to all ages.

If you're not familiar with them, aurorawave is a rock band that calls its sound 'reggaecore'—a mix of heavy, guitar-driven intensity and rhythmic reggae influences. They've built their record around a high-profile list of collaborators. Their self-titled debut featured members of The Ghost Inside, Atreyu, and Attila. In 2025, they followed it up with Monument, a project that brought together Aaron Gillespie of Underoath, Frankie Palmeri of Emmure, Left To Suffer, Ekoh, Jesse Royal, The Movement, and Kumar Fyah.

That range of names tells you something about where they sit. They pull from metalcore, alternative rock, and modern reggae, and they've found a place on lineups that don't usually share the same stage. They're known for their live shows, so this is a good chance to hear that sound in person rather than on a record.

HI-FI is inside the historic Murphy Arts Center at 1043 Virginia Ave #4. Doors open at 7 PM, and the music starts at 8 PM. Tickets run from $20 to $25.
