Seven-week class on digital painting in Procreate at Indy Art Center, with iPads and Apple Pencils provided.
Indy Art Center is starting a new class on digital painting in Procreate on Tuesday, October 20, and it's a seven-week course, so you'll be coming back to the center for a good stretch of the fall. The focus is Procreate, the app that's basically become the standard for digital painting on the iPad, and the class is built around getting you comfortable with it over those seven sessions.
One of the best things about this particular setup is that you don't need to bring your own gear. The center provides the iPads and the Apple Pencils, so you can just show up and start painting without having to drop a few hundred dollars on hardware first. That makes it a lot easier to dive in if you've been curious about digital art but didn't want to commit to the equipment before you knew you liked it.
Since it's a seven-week course, it's more of a steady climb than a one-off workshop. You'll have time to get a handle on the tools and actually put them to use across several sessions, rather than trying to cram everything into a single afternoon. It's a good pace if you're starting from scratch.
