Country music artist Tracy Byrd performs live at the Arena Theatre in Houston.
Tracy Byrd plays the Arena Theatre on Friday, December 11, 2026. He's a Beaumont, Texas native, and he's still touring with a full traditional band that includes fiddle and steel guitar.
Byrd became one of the defining voices of modern country after his first No. 1 single, "Holdin' Heaven," in 1993. His deep baritone and traditional sound earned him multiple Gold and Platinum certifications, and his ballad "The Keeper of the Stars" won the Academy of Country Music Award for Song of the Year in 1996. He didn't set out to be a professional singer: while studying business in college, a friend encouraged him to record a Hank Williams song, which led to a talent competition that launched his career. Fellow artist Mark Chesnutt was a regular presence on stage with him back then. Beyond the music, he served as the CMA National Spokesperson for Special Olympics International and has supported Children's Miracle Network and March of Dimes.
