Country music concert by Chris Cagle at the Arena Theatre in Houston on New Year's Eve.
Chris Cagle plays the Arena Theatre on Thursday, December 31, 2026, a New Year's Eve concert that brings him back to the city where he grew up. For a Houston native, there's something fitting about ringing in the new year on a local stage.
Cagle was born in De Ridder, Louisiana, and raised here in Houston before moving to Nashville in 1994. He signed with Virgin Records in 2000 and released Play It Loud, a Gold-certified debut that launched his career with the No. 1 hit "I Breathe In, I Breathe Out." His self-titled sophomore album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart and added hits like "What A Beautiful Day" and "Chicks Dig It." Along the way, he was named CMT Breakthrough Artist of the Year and earned an Academy of Country Music Award nomination for New Male Vocalist.
He's still active and reaching a wide audience. In 2026, Pandora recognized him as a "Pandora Billionaire" after he surpassed one billion streams. Offstage, he sits on the Executive Committee of the Body Balance Foundation, which supports programs like Toys FORE Kids at Texas Children's Hospital.
