Youth chamber orchestra performance by The Houston Youth Chamber Orchestra, led by Grace Lewis with artistic advisor Kurt Johnson, at Galaxy Lights in Space Center Houston.
The Houston Youth Chamber Orchestra plays at Space Center Houston on Sunday, November 22, as part of the Galaxy Lights series. It's a youth ensemble that takes in students from kindergarten through 12th grade, so you'll see a wide range of ages on stage together. They're under the artistic guidance of Houston Symphony violinist Kurt Johnson, and the group is led by director and conductor Grace Lewis, who's an Educator of the Year award recipient.
The performance is held at Space Center Houston, the education and museum center of The Manned Space Flight Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. It's one of the city's top attractions and its number one draw for international visitors, as well as the Official Visitor Center of NASA Johnson Space Center and a Smithsonian Affiliate. The concert is part of the Galaxy Lights series, so it's one of several events happening there during the season.
