Punk rock night featuring The Interrupters, The Aquabats! and The Mainliners at House of Blues Houston, a family-friendly show with theatrical antics.
The Aquabats! are playing House of Blues Houston on Wednesday, March 24, 2027, and they're not coming alone. They're sharing the bill with The Interrupters and The Mainliners, so it's a full night of punk and ska rather than a single act. If you've never seen them, the first thing you'll notice is the costumes: they've spent decades playing punk rock's superheroes, complete with Paul Frank-designed power belts, rash guards, black eye masks, and anti-negativity helmets. The theatrical antics are as much a part of the show as the music.
They've been at this since 1994, starting out in Orange County. Their early records—The Return of the Aquabats (1996), The Fury of the Aquabats! (1997), and The Aquabats vs. The Floating Eye of Death (1999)—built the foundation. In 2012, they moved into television with the live-action musical series The Aquabats! Super Show! on the Hub Network, which earned a Daytime Emmy. They marked their 30th anniversary in 2024 with FINALLY!, a fan-funded album that keeps them current.
The lineup on stage is Christian Jacobs as The MC Bat Commander, Chad Larson as Crash McLarson, Ian Fowles as Eaglebones Falconhawk, Richard Falomir as Ricky Fitness, and James Briggs as Jimmy the Robot. It's an all-ages show, and the energy usually matches the costumes—expect inflatables and crowd surfing. The venue is cashless, so leave the cash at home.
