A world-famous theatrical production combining live percussion, visual storytelling and immersive performance using everyday objects.
Stomp is coming to Jones Hall for the Performing Arts in downtown Houston from January 19 to 24, 2027. It's a six-day run, with the show playing at 7:30 PM every night. If you're looking for a weekend afternoon, there are two matinees on Saturday, January 23, at 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM.
If you've never seen it, the premise is simple: an eight-member troupe makes music using everyday objects. Brooms, garbage cans, lighters, and their own bodies become the instruments. They build a symphony out of things you'd usually ignore, blending physical comedy, choreography, and found-object percussion into a single performance. It's non-verbal, so there's no script to follow—the rhythm and the movement do all the talking.
The show started in Brighton, UK, and has toured the world since. Because it doesn't rely on dialogue, it's an audience-focused experience that works for all ages, and each tour stop adapts to its venue while keeping the same high-energy pacing. The cast handles the percussion live on stage, so you see exactly how the sound is made.
