A Mardi Gras-themed night at the Houston supper club featuring Trisha Jones and the house band playing Louis Armstrong and Fats Waller music.
Trisha Jones fronts the house band at Doc's Houston on Friday, October 9, for another New Orleans Night. It's a Mardi Gras-themed evening, and the set focuses on the music that built New Orleans jazz, starting with Louis Armstrong and Fats Waller and moving through the songs that followed. The horns—trumpet, trombone, and clarinet—push a rolling second line past the tables, and the kitchen and bar stay open all night.
Jones leads the house band through this material on New Orleans Night, which is one of her regular spots at the club; on other nights, she works her way through the American songbook. The New Orleans series itself began at the venue in January 2026 and returns about once a month, so this is one of its recurring dates.
Doc's is Houston's premier supper club, set inside Montrose's historic 1936 Tower Theatre. Bandleader and pianist Doc Watkins opened it in 2025, bringing the golden era of the supper club back to Westheimer with live music Tuesday through Saturday and chef Matt Fanella's classic supper club fare. The venue's address is 1201 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77006.
