A day of hands-on STEM activities, interactive exhibits and workshops for all ages at the Children's Museum Houston, sponsored by ExxonMobil.
Children's Museum Houston is hosting National STEM Day on Saturday, November 7, from 9 AM to 5 PM. Sponsored by ExxonMobil, the day is built around science, technology, engineering and math, with hands-on activities, interactive exhibits and workshops for all ages. You can work through experiments, coding challenges and engineering projects, and local scientists and educators will be on hand giving demonstrations on how STEM shapes the world.
The scheduled activities run throughout the day, so you can pick your own path. The STEM Challenge Course runs from 9 AM to 2 PM outside in the Playscape, and Squishy Circuits is in the Chevron Maker Lab from 10 AM to 4 PM. Bernoulli Blowers takes over the Science Station from 12 PM to 5 PM, and Get a Grip—a claw machine engineering challenge—runs from 1 PM to 4 PM in the Kids' Hall Alcove. All day, you'll also find Houston Bricks in the Kids' Hall, Animal Tracks at the EcoStation, and Circle Art at the Kids' Hall activity tables.

It's a full day, and the museum has plenty of room to stretch it out. Children's Museum Houston won the 2024 National Medal for Museum and Library Service and houses 13 kid-powered galleries, so if you're not at a specific workshop, there's always something else to wander into. The whole thing is open to all ages, and the activities are designed to be hands-on rather than just something to watch. Entry is General Admission, and the museum is at 1500 Binz St, Houston, TX 77004.
