Award-winning actor, singer and comedian John O'Hurley performs his 90-minute retrospective on the Great American Songbook, blending music with stories from his career.
John O'Hurley brings his retrospective A Man With Standards to Doc's Houston on Thursday, October 15, at 7 PM. He's backed by a seven-piece band, and the whole thing runs ninety minutes.
The set is built around the Great American Songbook—the music his father called "the standards"—and he laces the songs with stories from a career that's touched a few different worlds. There's the four seasons he spent playing J. Peterman on Seinfeld, his time hosting Family Feud from 2006 to 2010, and the first season of Dancing with the Stars, where he finished as runner-up. The night plays like a concert and a stand-up show at once, so you'll get the music and the storytelling in the same breath.
Doc's Houston is a supper club and live music room inside Montrose's historic 1936 Tower Theatre, which bandleader and pianist Doc Watkins opened in 2025. The evening doesn't end when the music stops; the bar serves chef-crafted dishes and handcrafted cocktails to round things off.
