A high-energy dance theatre production by Moksh Community Arts that traces the evolution of Bollywood dance, music and culture through four acts.
Moksh Community Arts brings Houston's Got Bollywood - Bombay Express to Miller Outdoor Theatre on Saturday, November 7, 2026. It's a dance theatre production that traces the evolution of Bollywood dance, music, and culture, built around a multi-generational cast. The show unfolds in four acts, with an overture and a finale, and pulls from a wide range of styles: folk dance, semi-classical, Bolly hop, Indian contemporary, and Bollywood fusion.
On stage, it works as a visual and kinesthetic journey through different regions of India, from the streets of Mumbai to the fields of Punjab and the temples of the South. The music follows a similar path, mixing Bollywood film classics with Indi-pop, folk, hip-hop, jazz, and Latin rhythms. Along the way, the production looks at the origin of dance and music within the historical context of the Bollywood film industry, from its beginnings to the present day.
Moksh Community Arts has been around since 2016, and they describe their goal as making dance an integral part of life for everyone, regardless of social or cultural background. That multi-generational cast is a big part of the show, with dancers of different ages sharing the stage rather than sticking to one age group.
