An immersive Halloween comedy where an actor downs five shots of whiskey and attempts to retell the tale of Dracula, with craft cocktails delivered to the audience.
Drunk Dracula is running at Drunk Shakespeare Houston from September 23 through November 8, presented by the Drunk Shakespeare Society. It's a Halloween show that blends improv comedy with Bram Stoker's classic tale: one actor downs five shots of whiskey and then attempts to retell the story of Dracula while the alcohol kicks in. The whole thing is built around that one performer trying to keep the plot on track as the shots take hold, so the comedy comes from where the story goesβand where it falls apart.
It's an adult night out, and the drinks aren't just for the stage. Craft cocktails are delivered right to your seat, so you can sip along while you watch the retelling unravel. In that sense, it fits right in with the city's haunted pub crawls and burlesque parodies that pop up around October. If you're into the kind of comedy that relies on a performer losing their grip in real time, this is exactly that.

There are a few practical things to keep in mind before you go. The room is 21+ only, so you'll need your ID. The show uses fog, strobe effects, and loud noises, which is worth knowing if you're sensitive to either. The venue is wheelchair accessible, and the run stretches across several weeks, from late September through early November, so you've got plenty of dates to choose from. Tickets start at $49.
