A tipsy retelling of Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol' where one actor takes five shots of whiskey and delivers an unhinged performance, with craft cocktails served throughout.
Drunk Shakespeare Houston is bringing Drunk Christmas Carol to 412 Travis St on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at 7 PM. It's a holiday retelling of Dickens' A Christmas Carol with a specific twist: one actor takes five shots of whiskey and delivers a totally unhinged performance, while craft cocktails are served throughout the night.
The whole thing is put on by the Drunk Shakespeare Society, and the premise is exactly what it sounds like. The actor on the shots is the one doing the heavy lifting, and the rest of the cast works around them as the performance goes off the rails. The production leans into the double meaning of the word spirits, with the tagline "He's haunted by spirits... and drinking them too."
