Ballroom Night - Dance Class and Dance Social

Ballroom Night is back at Just Danze Dance Studios on Sunday, October 11, from 7:30 to 10:00 PM. It's one of the studio's signature weekly formats, and the night is built around ballroom dancing—the kind of evening that works whether you've been taking classes for years or you've never stepped foot on a dance floor.

The night follows a simple, two-part structure. It starts with a short group lesson, which is a good way to get your bearings and pick up a few moves before the social dancing kicks in. After that, the floor opens up for the rest of the evening, and you can dance as much or as little as you like. If you're completely new to this, there's a free intro lesson for newcomers to get you started without any pressure. Students and guests are both welcome, so you don't need to be a regular at the studio to join in.

The music covers the ballroom spectrum, with a floor suited to waltz, foxtrot, rumba, tango and swing. That's a fair bit of ground to cover in one night—the smooth, gliding lines of the waltz and foxtrot, the rhythmic pulse of the rumba, the sharp drama of the tango, and the upbeat energy of swing. Depending on what's playing, you can shift from something slow and elegant to something with a bit more bounce.

Ballroom Night is part of a larger rotation at Just Danze, which runs a themed dance night every Friday, cycling through Latin, Country, Ballroom and Teen styles. Each one pairs a short group lesson with open social dancing, just like this. The studio also puts on two larger signature events each year, the Fall Ball and the Spring Gala, both of which bring together ballroom, Latin and social dance for the studio community and their guests.
