Third edition of the Wine Fair Halifax, featuring over 200 wines from Nova Scotia wineries, Canadian vineyards and international producers, with expert-led tastings.
Wine Fair Halifax returns to the Halifax Convention Centre on Saturday, October 3, for its third edition. It's back at the same spot where the previous two sold out, so if you're planning on going, it's worth getting your tickets sorted early.
The fair is run by Shevaghn Darcy, a WSET Level 3 certified professional and founder of Cellar Events Inc., a female-led company that bills itself as Atlantic Canada's first premier women-owned beverage events company. Darcy started the fair to fill a gap she saw in the region's beverage scene, and it's built around three pillars: Excellence, Sustainability and Community. This year, that translates to more than 200 wines curated from Nova Scotia wineries, top Canadian vineyards and international producers. The tastings are led by industry experts, and there are interactive activations inspired by travel, culture and premium lifestyle. The Halifax Downtown Business Commission has backed the event with a C$2,500 contribution.

One thing that sets this apart from a standard tasting is the choice of when to go. There are two separate sessions on the day: an afternoon tasting from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and an evening tasting from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. You pick the one that fits your Saturday, whether you're in the mood for a long afternoon or a night out. Tickets are C$95.38 per person, which includes taxes and fees. Just a reminder that you have to be 19 or older to enter. The fair is at the Halifax Convention Centre, 1650 Argyle Street, Halifax, NS, B3J 0E6.
