An evening of outdoor West Coast Swing dancing held under the Gazebo on the Halifax Waterfront, with views of George's Island and the harbour.
West Coast Swing is back on the waterfront this Friday, July 24, with a session under the Waterfront Gazebo from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. DJ Spacebar is on the decks, and the whole thing is free, so you can just show up and hang out.
It's an outdoor dance, and the gazebo puts you right on the edge of the Halifax Waterfront. From there, you're looking out over George's Island and the harbour, with ships, sailboats and kayaks drifting past and people fishing off the dock. If the weather holds, it's a great spot to spend a Friday evening.
One thing that's worth knowing is that you don't need to know West Coast Swing to come along. The night is open to everyone, so you're welcome to just watch the dancing, listen to the music and enjoy the company. If you've never seen the dance before, this is a low-pressure way to get a look at it.

Because it's outdoors, the session depends on the weather. If it looks iffy, a cancellation notice is posted by 4:00 pm on the day, so check before you head down. Otherwise, it's free entry from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Waterfront Gazebo.
