A live performance by the renowned six-sibling Celtic music group The Barra MacNeils at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium.
The Barra MacNeils play the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium on Sunday, December 20, 2026, starting at 7:30 p.m. The show is An East Coast Christmas, a Brookes Diamond Production that mixes stories and dance with the group's harmonies and instrumental work.
The Barra MacNeils are a six-sibling family group from Sydney Mines, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. They're known as Canada's Celtic ambassadors, and their live sets bring together multiple lead vocalists, sibling harmonies, and a wide range of acoustic, stringed, percussion, and wind instruments, alongside dancing, storytelling, and Gaelic songs. They've released several recordings over the years, including Closer to Paradise (1993, certified Gold in Canada), Racket In the Attic (2002), and Christmas Album (1999), as well as the DVD Cape Breton Christmas (2001). They've performed with The Chieftains and appeared in the Rita MacNeils CTV Christmas Special, and their one-hour Christmas television special from 2000 continues to air on CMT and PBS.
