Two Spontaneity Improv teams provide a night of comedy with an improvised musical and audience-driven improv.
Spontaneity Improv Co. is taking over The Bus Stop Theatre Co-operative on Friday, December 11, for a double-bill night of improv. It's a combo show, which means you get two different teams on the same bill rather than just one act carrying the whole evening. If you've only seen one improv show before, this is a good way to see two distinct approaches in one sitting.
The night is split into two halves. One team puts on an improvised musical, where the songs are made up on the spot, and the other handles audience-driven improv, where the scenes are built from suggestions you shout out from your seat. Because it's all improvised, nothing is scripted and no two shows ever turn out the same way. The musical side brings in music, and the audience-driven side puts the room in the driver's seat, so the two halves feel like different kinds of comedy.
