Techno and house club night with DJs Douvet, Swee and Avery at Seahorse Tavern.
Rhythm & Colour is back at the Seahorse Tavern on Saturday 5 September, with Douvet, Swee and Avery taking over the booth. It's a techno and house night, and the promoter is billing it as an end-of-summer jam. The setup is a bit more hands-on than your usual club night: they're bringing turntables, wax, and a soundsystem into the room, so you'll be hearing records played from vinyl rather than a laptop.
There's a bit of a reunion in the mix, too. The promoter mentions he hasn't played with Papa Douvet in quite some time, and this is one of the nights they're finally getting back together. That makes the whole thing feel less like just another date on the calendar and more like a specific occasion.
It's also a send-off. This is the last jam with Avery before she heads back to China for the winter, so if you've been meaning to catch her, this is the one to make. Between the reunion and the farewell, it's a night that carries a bit more weight than the usual weekend outing.
