Newfoundland-born comedian Matt Wright performs an hour of stand-up comedy on technology, travelling with a baby, and more.
Matt Wright brings his new hour of stand-up to YukYuks in Halifax on September 4 and 5, with both shows running from 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm in The Basement. The set ranges from technology to the realities of travelling with a baby, and everything in between.
Wright is a Newfoundland-born comedian, writer, and actor with a fair bit of ground behind him. He's a two-time JUNO Award winner who has appeared on televised galas for Just For Laughs and the Winnipeg and Halifax Comedy Festivals, and has opened for Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Gaffigan, John Mulaney, Martin Short, and Theo Von. On screen, he played The Weatherman on season two of Son of a Critch, and spent six seasons writing for CBC's This Hour Has 22 Minutes, which earned him a Canadian Screen Award nomination. He also penned episodes of Still Standing, and his short film Snowstorm Roulette was nominated for Best International Short at the Austin Comedy Festival. He's put out a debut comedy special, Live at The Majestic, which you can stream on YouTube if you want to get a feel for his style before seeing him in person.
