Haliente's Salsa Fridays

Haliente's Salsa Fridays are back at Haliente Creative Hub on Friday 25 September, part of the weekly fixture the venue runs every Friday night. The night starts with a beginner lesson at 8:30 PM, and from 9:30 PM through to 2 AM it's social dancing across two rooms. The lesson focuses on salsa, bachata or kizomba, so it's a good way to get your bearings before the social kicks in.

Once the dancing starts, the venue splits into two distinct spaces. The Salsa Room plays salsa, bachata and merengue, while the Kizomba Room is dedicated to kizomba, urban kiz, kompa and tarraxio. Having two rooms means you can switch between the styles throughout the night rather than sticking to one.

Haliente is evolving into a creative hub for dance, events, culture and independent creative projects, and Salsa Fridays are a regular part of that. The hub is at 1678 Barrington Street in downtown Halifax, and the night runs every Friday, so if you can't make this one, there's another coming the week after.

Entry is C$15, which includes a beer, shot or water. Students get a special rate of C$10 before 11 PM with a valid student ID. The beginner lesson starts at 8:30 PM, and the social dancing runs from 9:30 PM until 2 AM.
