Weekly trivia night hosted by comedian Brad Doiron, with proceeds donated to local nonprofits.
Goodwill Trivia Mondays runs every Monday at Good Robot Brewing Co., 2736 Robie Street in the North End. It's a general-knowledge trivia night fronted by local comedian Brad Doiron, with weekly prizes and a few special questions tied to that week's featured nonprofit partner. The whole thing doubles as a fundraiser: the brewery donates C$1 from every beverage sold during trivia to the partner organisation of the week.
That's the core of it, but the scale adds up. Since 2015, Good Robot's goodwill programmes have raised more than C$120,000 for over 400 different organisations. Because the partner changes every week, the money goes to a wide range of local causes over the course of the year rather than just one or two big ones. It's one of those things that works better the more you do it โ the more rounds you play and the more drinks you have, the more the night gives back.
If you've never been, the format is straightforward. You get the general-knowledge rounds, the prizes for the winning teams, and the specific questions that point back to the nonprofit of the week. It's a low-stakes way to spend a Monday night, and since it's a weekly thing, you can drop in whenever you fancy without worrying about missing a whole series. It's as much about the beer and the company as it is about the trivia.
Every week we pick ๐ the 5 best ๐ things to do in Halifax and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
