Goodwill Trivia Mondays

Goodwill Trivia Mondays are back at Good Robot Brewing Co. on Robie Street, with the next session running Monday, September 28, from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm. It's a weekly thing that keeps going through December 21, so if you miss one, there's another the following Monday.

Local comedian Brad Doiron hosts the night, and the format is a bit different from your usual pub quiz. He mixes general-knowledge rounds with special questions tied to the week's featured nonprofit partner, so you end up learning something about the cause you're supporting while you play. The whole thing is built on the idea that 'having a beer helps a neighbour'—and it's not just a slogan. Good Robot donates C$1 from every beverage sold during the event directly to that partner, and the winning team walks away with prizes each week.

It's a long-running tradition here. Since 2015, the pub's goodwill community programmes have raised more than C$120,000 for over 400 organisations. The list of partners they've worked with reads like a who's who of local causes: the Ecology Action Centre, Feed Nova Scotia, Cobequid Wildlife Fund, Bide Awhile, and TEAM Work Cooperative are among them. Every Monday brings a different group into the spotlight, so the cause changes from week to week.
