American vocalist Zinadelphia, influenced by Neo-Soul, Jazz, Funk and Folk, headlines The Poetry Club.
Zinadelphia plays The Poetry Club at SWG3 on Thursday 12 November, with the show starting at 7pm. She's an American singer-songwriter whose sound pulls from neo-soul, jazz, funk and folk, and this is a headline date in Glasgow.
Her music leans heavily on 1970s funk and soul, and she names Parliament, Funkadelic, Bobby Womack and Donny Hathaway as her primary influences. The songs tend to focus on self-growth, divine femininity and empowerment, and that mix of funk and soul sits right at the centre of what she does. It's the kind of sound that works as well for a slow dance as it does for something you can actually move to.

Her musical journey started back in high school, when she sang and taught herself guitar, and that's when she first discovered her love for that era of funk and soul. It's a sound she's stayed with, and you can hear those 70s records running through her work. The Glasgow date is for over-14s, and under-16s have to be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over, with one adult attending with a maximum of two under-16s. The Poetry Club is part of SWG3 at 100 Eastvale Place, G3 8QG, and the night kicks off at 7pm.
