South Carolina indie-rockers Winyah headline King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, supported by Evyn, as part of their upcoming tour.
Winyah play King Tut's Wah Wah Hut on Monday 12 October, part of their current tour. They're a five-piece indie rock band from Pawleys Island, South Carolina, now based in Nashville. The name comes from Winyah Bay, the coastal landmark where four of the five members grew up.
They've been together since 2023, and their sound blends southern rock, nostalgic storytelling and catchy, guitar-driven melodies. The line-up is led by vocalist and rhythm guitarist Thomas Rowland, with Stephen Russell on bass, Robert Buffington Jr. on keyboards, Luke Gordon on lead guitar and Jacob 'Jake' Riley on drums. They're supported on the night by Evyn.
Their debut album, Lot to Learn, came out in February 2025 on Cloverdale Records. The story behind it is a bit of a rush: they had to fill a 2024 Bonnaroo slot and ended up recording the whole thing over five weeks in a borrowed warehouse. It's since gone on to more than 25 million global streams. Since then they've played festivals including Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza, and sold out their first headline tour in 2025, with dates at venues like New York's Mercury Lounge. They're currently writing and recording their second album, so this is a good time to catch them while they're still touring the first one.
