A programme of five short films exploring the pressures young people face and what helps them stay mentally well, presented as part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival.
Where I'm At runs at The Social Hub on Sunday 25 October, a programme of five short films presented by the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival as part of its Focus on Film strand. The films look at the pressures children, teenagers and young adults face — family difficulties, hidden health conditions, bullying and social media — and what helps them stay mentally well: supportive relationships, welcoming communities, creativity, physical activity and time in nature.
It's one of more than 180 events the festival is running across Scotland this year, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary under the theme Reflections. The line-up spans film, theatre, music, visual arts, writing, comedy, creative workshops and community events. Since its first edition in 2007, the festival's International Film Awards have become a fixture, recognising cinema from Scotland, the UK and around the world, with past winners including Carla Simón, Orlando von Einsiedel and Mike Hoolboom. Over those two decades, the festival has championed lived experience, challenged stigma and shaped conversations about mental health and creativity.
