Rising country star Waylon Wyatt brings his global Dustpiles World Tour to SWG3, following a breakout year on the US festival circuit.
Waylon Wyatt plays SWG3 on Monday 23 November, part of his Dustpiles world tour. It's his first Glasgow date since he broke out on the US festival circuit last year, and it's one stop on a run of more than 40 shows across North America, Europe and Australia. The tour follows the release of his debut album, Dustpiles, which came out on 17 July via Music Soup/Darkroom Records.
Wyatt's been keeping busy on both sides of the Atlantic. Alongside this world tour, he's running his own headline Everywhere Under The Sun dates and playing support for Sam Barber and Turnpike Troubadours. The Glasgow show is one of the European legs of the Dustpiles run, so it'll be a good chance to hear the new record live.
If you haven't come across him yet, the early US shows have been described as "a reminder of what country music sounds like when it comes from the gut", with critics pointing to a mix of powerhouse vocals and genuine warmth. That's drawn comparisons to Chris Stapleton, Tyler Childers and Jason Isbell, so it's the kind of country that sits on the singer-songwriter end of things rather than the polished pop side. Last summer he was caught backstage at BST Hyde Park, and he described the tour as something he wants fans to "never forget."
