Canadian indie-pop group Walk off the Earth headline SWG3 TV Studio in an all-ages show.
Walk off the Earth play the TV Studio at SWG3 on Monday 9 November, their only Glasgow date this autumn. They're a five-piece indie-pop group from Burlington, Ontario, just outside Toronto, and they've built a following on YouTube, where a one-guitar cover of Gotye's 'Somebody That I Used to Know' took off and passed 180 million views. Since then, they've become known for music videos that mix covers and originals, often pairing the ukulele and theremin with looping samples to build a multi-instrumental sound.
That's the core of what they do: layering instruments on top of each other until a few people sound like a whole band. The ukulele and theremin are a good shorthand for the kind of textures they work with, and the looping is how they hold it all together. It's a sound that sits somewhere between indie-pop and something more experimental, and they've kept that approach across their covers and their own songs.

The Glasgow show is an all-ages one, so it's as much for younger crowds as for anyone else. Under-16s need to be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over, which is worth keeping in mind if you're bringing the family along. Doors open at 7pm at the TV Studio, SWG3, 100 Eastvale Place, Glasgow G3 8QG.
