Alt-rock four-piece unpeople headline King Tut's on their debut UK and Ireland tour.
unpeople play King Tut's Wah Wah Hut on Monday 25 January, their first Glasgow date as part of a debut tour of the UK and Ireland. It's a four-date run that takes them through Dublin, Manchester, Birmingham and London, with the Glasgow stop falling on a Monday night.
They're an alt-rock four-piece: guitarists Jake Crawford and Luke Caley, bassist Em Lodge and drummer Richard Rayner. The band describes their work as combining earnest lyricism and hefty riffs with catchy melodies and luscious harmonies, and they've built their sound around a particular kind of energy—one they describe as brimming with impassioned animosity towards the state of the world and its effects on humanity. It's a heavy-leaning approach to alternative rock, with the riffs and the melodies sitting side by side rather than one working against the other.
