A vibrant celebration of Gaelic culture, contemporary folk and Highland music as part of Celtic Connections 2027, with support from Kirsteen Harvey.
Trail West and Friends play The Barrowland Ballroom on Saturday 16 January, as part of Celtic Connections 2027. The night is a celebration of Gaelic culture, contemporary folk and Highland music, led by a band that sits right in the middle of Glasgow's Gaelic music scene. Their sound pulls together driving accordion melodies, soaring whistles, guitars, keys and powerful vocals — rooted in tradition, but with a modern edge. The set mixes singalong favourites, heartfelt ballads and uplifting anthems, delivered with the kind of warmth and camaraderie that's made them one of Scotland's most popular live acts.
Opening the night is Kirsteen Harvey, an independent Glasgow-based folk singer-songwriter who grew up in a family of traditional musicians. Her following has grown significantly since February 2023, with over 190k followers across social media and videos recognised by Amy MacDonald and Marti Pellow, and reposted by Lewis Capaldi, The Kinks and Noah Kahan.
