The Isle of Lewis band The Tumbling Souls bring their uplifting blend of trad, country and rock to McChuills Bar.
The Tumbling Souls play McChuills Music Bar & Venue on Friday 13 November, from 20:00 to 23:00. They're a Scottish band from the Isle of Lewis, and this Glasgow date comes fresh from Celtic Connections.
Their sound is built on 1960s song structures, with trad, country and rock folded in to create something they describe as unusually uplifting. It's a mix that comes from years of playing live in bars and at Ceilidhs, and their tune players emerged from the Feis movement. They first made a name for themselves when live video recordings of the band performing across the Isle of Lewis went viral, which led to their debut album, Between the Truth and the Dream, released in July 2018 on Wee Studio Records.
2026 sees the band releasing the long-awaited follow-up album, so this is a good time to catch them live. The set will draw on that new material alongside the older songs they've been playing since the debut. Between the trad roots and the country and rock influences, it's a broad sound that fits as well in a pub as it does on a proper stage.
