Nashville 90s-inspired indie-rock band The Sewing Club perform live in the basement venue at Nice N Sleazy.
The Sewing Club play the basement at Nice N Sleazy on Monday 19 October, their first Glasgow date since they formed over in Nashville. It's a four-piece led by Hannah McElroy on guitar and vocals, with Stephen Meaux on guitar and bass, Justin Mckinney on guitar, and Zach McCoy on drums and vocals. They started out playing the basements of their friends' houses in Tennessee and built their following in local DIY venues before touring North America, which included a 60-day run opening for Arlie and appearances at SXSW.
Their sound sits in that sparkly '90s-inspired grunge-pop territory, paired with sharp, relatable storytelling. Their debut EP, Care, was recorded with producers Calvin Lauber, who's worked with Julien Baker, and Alex Farrar, who's worked with Wednesday. They've shared the stage with Soccer Mommy, CMAT, Slow Pulp, Protomartyr, fanclubwallet, Otoboke Beaver, Horse Jumper of Love, and Lowertown.

It's a Monday night in the basement at 421 Sauchiehall Street, so it's a bit of a different slot than the usual weekend run. The set runs from 7:30pm to 11:00pm, and tickets start from £14.30.
