West Scotland indie-rockers The Rants deliver an electric headline set at Nice N Sleazy.
The Rants headline Nice N Sleazy on Friday 20 November, their first Glasgow show in a while. They're a West Scotland indie-rock four-piece — Fionn Lyons, Shay McDermott, Fraser Carstairs and Logan Murdoch — and they've spent the last few years working their way up the local circuit. Before this, you'd have found them playing King Tuts, the Glasgow Art School, St Lukes and SWG3, and they've since toured and played festivals across the country alongside the likes of Old Mervs, Vistas and James.
Their sound sits somewhere between classic grit and a modern edge. They draw on 90s acts like Radiohead and the Goo Goo Dolls, and they're as much in conversation with fellow Scottish bands as they are with the older stuff — Biffy Clyro and Frightened Rabbit both figure in. It's a set that leans on the indie-rock they've built their name on, and they'll be playing tracks from their debut EP, Ode To A Broken Soul, which came out in early 2025. Among the songs you'll hear are 'What We Are' and 'Blue'.

It's a headline set, so they'll be taking up the bulk of the night. The venue is Nice N Sleazy, 421 Sauchiehall Street in the city centre, and doors open at 19:00. The night is for ages 16+, with under-18s admitted with an adult.
