Open day at The Gamer Club with tours of its members-only venue featuring board, arcade, retro and PC/VR games.
The Gamer Club is throwing open its doors on Saturday 17 October, from 1:00pm, for its monthly open day. For the rest of the year, it's a members-only venue in Glasgow City Centre, so this is one of the few times you can actually get inside without a membership. It's a free entry, and the whole point is to let prospective members tour the place, play a few games and meet the community that hangs out there.
If you've never heard of it, the club is a 24/7 hub for geeks and gamers of all stripes, run as a members-only venue and hack space. It's split across five themed rooms, and the open day is your chance to see them all. There's an arcade for the coin-op classics, a gaming lounge for more relaxed sessions, and a kitchen set up for movies and couch games. The PC room holds the gaming rigs and a mini hackerspace, and the main room is where you'll find a gaming projector, board games, tabletop RPGs and comics. It's a broad spread, so whether you're into retro consoles, modern PC gaming, or a proper board game afternoon, there's something to look at.

Beyond the open day, the club runs Over-18s Retro Gaming Sessions, and thegamerclub.co.uk is where you'll find the official booking for those. If you're just curious about the space, the open day is the easiest way to get a feel for it before committing to a membership. It starts at 1:00pm on Saturday 17 October at The Gamer Club, 153 Bath Lane, Glasgow City Centre, G2 4RH, and it's free to come along.
