A tribute concert bringing the music of Jeff Lynne and The Electric Light Orchestra to the live stage, featuring classics like 'Mr Blue Sky' and 'Don't Bring Me Down'.
The ELO Experience are playing The King's Theatre on Sunday 13 June 2027, starting at 7.30pm. It's a tribute to Jeff Lynne and Electric Light Orchestra, and the group has been touring the music since 2006, billing themselves as the world's foremost tribute to the band.
If you're not fully up on the original ELO, they were a powerhouse of the 70s and 80s. Between 1972 and 1986, they landed more combined UK and US Top 40 hits than any other group, leaving behind songs like 'Mr Blue Sky', 'Don't Bring Me Down' and 'Evil Woman'. The tribute draws on a back catalogue spanning more than 45 years and works its way through much of the original band's classic albums, including A New World Record, Discovery and Out of the Blue. So, it's not just a run of the biggest hits; they're digging into the records that built the sound.
There's a visual side to it, too. The production uses strobe and flashing lights and haze effects to recreate the ELO live experience, so it's as much about the stage show as it is about the songs. It's a full evening's worth of music, not a short set.
