An expanded dining experience by BAaD featuring seasonal, local ingredients and big Scottish flavours served across five courses with paired wines, storytelling and a DJ.
Taste of the Calton XL is coming to Barras Art and Design Centre on Friday 20 November, and it's a bigger version of the dining experience BAaD first launched back in 2025. The original was built around an intimate table of 20 guests; the XL version takes that same format and opens it up with more seats and a wider atmosphere, so you're sitting at one long, lively table with a fair few people around you rather than just a handful.
The menu is built on seasonal, local ingredients and big Scottish flavours with a modern twist, served as five special courses with paired wines. It's not just about the food, though. A master waiter shares the stories and banter of The Calton throughout the night, and the surrounding community adds in anecdotes about who and what makes the area unique, so the meal is as much about the neighbourhood as it is about the plate. A DJ sets the tone in the background, and the whole thing runs across that single long table, which keeps the conversation going between courses.
