A family-friendly day of spooky activities at Provan Hall, one of Glasgow's oldest haunted houses, featuring a spooky trail, face painting and ghostly clay crafts.
Provan Hall is running a Spooky Special on Saturday 24 October, a free drop-in family day that leans right into the building's reputation. If you've never been, Provan Hall is one of Glasgow's oldest houses, with people living there since at least 1560. It's widely rumoured to be one of the city's most haunted spots, with ghost stories stretching across several different centuries. The venue doesn't shy away from that side of things; they partner with paranormal experts to run ghost events, including the Official Haunted Provan Hall Tour led by History & Horror Tours, which takes you through the building's haunted rooms.
The Spooky Special is a different beast altogether. It's a free, drop-in day run by the Provan Hall Community Management Trust, and it's built for families. There's a spooky trail to follow, face painting, and ghostly clay crafts to make and take home. Because it's a drop-in, you don't need to book aheadβyou just turn up when it suits you. It's also the gateway to the Seven Lochs Wetland Park, so it's easy to pair the day with a walk around the park.

Behind the scenes, the venue's paid events help fund its preservation and its charitable work with local young people and community groups, so the free days like this one sit alongside a broader effort to keep the place going. The Spooky Special runs from 11am to 3pm on Saturday 24 October at Provan Hall, 85 Auchinlea Road, Glasgow G34 9PQ, and entry is free.
