New York indie rock outfit Slow Fiction live at McChuills in Glasgow as part of their UK tour.
Slow Fiction play McChuills Bar on Sunday 21 February, part of their UK tour. They're a New York indie rock outfit that formed in early 2021, the five of them coming together through local ads and mutual friends. Now based in Brooklyn, the line-up is lead vocalist Julia Vassallo, guitarists Joseph Skimmons and Paul Knepple, bassist Ryan Duffin and drummer Akiva Henig.
Their sound is a blend of post-punk and the alt-rock of the late 90s and early 2000s, pairing sharp, angular guitar hooks and driving rhythms with Vassallo's vivid, expressive vocals. It's a combination that's earned them strong acclaim across the US and UK indie scenes, and the Glasgow date is one stop on their tour of the UK.

McChuills Bar is an institution and a community hub that's been more than a pub for over a decade. It's a place where live music was never just a way to sell drinks, where bands and musicians were valued and given a platform, and where you didn't have to pay to play or fit in with what was popular at the time. The gig starts at 7pm at 80 High Street, Glasgow City Centre G1 1NL.
