Green Star

Green Star play McChuills Music Bar & Venue on Sunday 13 December, their first Glasgow date since they emerged from London's collaborative warehouse scene. They're a shoegaze trio, and the sound they've built around that label is a noise-rock take on the genre that wraps lyrical romance in swirling blooms of feedback and fuzz. It's the kind of thing that works best when you're standing in it rather than listening to it on a record.

Their debut EP, bleeding swirls, came out in 2025 and picked up acclaim from BBC Radio 6 Music and Rolling Stone UK. Since then, they've built a following on the back of what's been described as sweaty, grimy, invigorating shows in small London rooms — the sort of gigs where the noise is as much a part of the experience as the songs. The Glasgow date is an 18+ show at McChuills, a High Street institution that's more of a community hub than just a pub, where live music has long been about giving bands a platform rather than just drawing punters.

There's a new record on the horizon, too. Their forthcoming EP silver + dust is expected to push their sonic horizons into more expansive, darker realms, so this show will likely be one of the first times you'll hear that material live. Between the bleeding swirls songs and the new stuff, it should give a decent sense of where they've come from and where they're heading.

Doors open at 19:00, and the music runs from 19:00 to 22:30. You'll find McChuills at 80 High Street in Glasgow City Centre.
