Contemporary Scottish folk band Skipinnish live at the Barrowland as part of their Winter tour.
Skipinnish are playing The Glasgow Barrowland Ballroom on Saturday 5 December, part of their Winter Tour 2026. It's a Glasgow date in a run that also takes them to The Nevis Centre in Fort William, the Royal Concert Hall here in the city, and the Concert Hall in Perth.
On the night, the core band is Norrie MacIver on lead vocals and guitar, Archie McAllister on fiddle, Charlotte Printer on bass, and Alistair Iain Paterson on piano. They're joined by guest musicians Rory Grindlay on drums, Angus Macphail on accordion and vocals, and Andrew Stevenson and Alasdair Murray on highland bagpipes and whistles. Between them, that's a fair few instruments on stage, and the pipes and accordion give the set its particular Scottish folk sound.
There's a bit of history to the band that ties back to the city. Skipinnish was formed by brothers Andrew and Angus, who met while studying at the R.S.A.M.D. in Glasgow; by early 1999, the name was established. They've spent the years since playing traditional Scottish music, and this show is one of several they're bringing to Scotland over the winter.
