Shed Seven celebrate the 30th anniversary of A Maximum High with a live show at the Barrowland Ballroom.
Shed Seven are playing The Glasgow Barrowland Ballroom on Saturday 31 October, their first date here in a while. It's a specific night, too: they're celebrating the 30th anniversary of A Maximum High, the second album they released back in 1996.
If you're not familiar with the record, it's the one that holds 'Chasing Cars' and 'Going For Gold' — songs that have stayed in their set long after the Britpop era they came from. For this show, they're bringing it back to the front, playing the album in full. It's a good way to hear the whole thing as it was intended, rather than just the few tracks that usually make the cut.
Shed Seven have kept a steady presence on the live circuit over the years, and this is one of those dates that looks back at a particular point in their catalogue. The set will centre on A Maximum High, so it's a night built around that one record rather than a general best-of. If that's the album you know them by, it's a chance to hear the deeper cuts alongside the ones you've probably heard a hundred times.
