A musical revue celebrating the life and music of The Beatles, performed by Roaming Roots Revue with the RCS Symphony Orchestra, as part of the Celtic Connections festival.
Roaming Roots Revue brings a Beatles celebration to the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Sunday 24 January 2027. It's part of Celtic Connections, Glasgow's annual folk, roots and world music festival, which celebrates Celtic music and its connections to cultures across the globe. The 2027 edition is billed as being powered by a spirit of discovery, with brand-new venues, a Beatlemania element and big names on the bill.
The show is titled When I'm 64, a nod to the song and the date: it's set against 1963, when The Beatles released their debut album Please Please Me and Beatlemania first erupted, and arrives sixty-four years on as a gala celebration of the band. Over the course of the evening, the set journeys through every chapter of the Beatles' story, reimagining their songs through bold new orchestral arrangements.
On stage, Roaming Roots Revue is joined by the RCS Symphony Orchestra, with Roddy Hart & The Lonesome Fire as house band and a cast of guest artists. The orchestral side comes from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, so you'll have a full symphony orchestra backing the songs rather than a small ensemble. The whole thing takes place in the Main Auditorium of the Royal Concert Hall, right in the city centre.
