German indie-pop quartet bring catchy melodies and vocal harmonies to King Tut's Wah Wah Hut.
Rikas play King Tut's Wah Wah Hut on Sunday 1 November, presented by Going DF Concerts. They're a four-piece indie-pop band from Stuttgart, Germany, and the night is billed as Rikas with special guests.
If you haven't come across them yet, they're Sam, Sascha, Chris and Ferdi. They describe their sound as a blend of retro pop, modern funk and indie mischief — playful, groove-heavy and effortlessly stylish. In practice, that translates to infectious, upbeat rhythms, bright guitar hooks and smooth vocal harmonies, all held together by a distinct retro, sun-drenched vibe. It's the kind of music that sits comfortably between a dancefloor and a singalong, and they've built a solid reputation across Europe on it.
They've spent the last few years touring extensively, playing their way across the UK and the continent and picking up a loyal fanbase along the way. Their tracks are built for dancing, so it's a set that works as well for a Sunday night as it does for a proper night out. The Stuttgart connection is there, but the sound they've landed on is broad enough to travel, and they've been out on the road long enough to have the live side of things well in hand.
