A collection of short, meditative films celebrating the positive impact of nature on mental health, with a post-screening discussion with filmmakers and Greenspace Scotland.
Rewilding the Mind is at The Social Hub on Sunday 25 October, a collection of short, meditative films that look at how nature affects mental health. It's part of Focus on Film 2026, the film strand of the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival, which is celebrating its 20th year this time around. The whole festival runs from 19 October to 8 November under the theme Reflections, and this session fits right into that.
The screening brings together short films set across changing seasons, remote landscapes and urban green spaces. Among them is a new documentary set within Lothlorien, a Scottish therapeutic community, and an award-winning personal narrative that explores autism and nature. The films are paired with a discussion on how listening, caring and connecting with the environment can help people process grief, find belonging and rediscover joy.
After the films, you'll get to hear from the filmmakers themselves: Sophie Broadgate, who made Part Fish; Sophie van Bree, behind Hidden Trees; and Tristan C. Anderson, who directed Casta. Joining them is Lorraine Tulloch, Chief Executive of Greenspace Scotland, so the conversation pulls in both the creative and the practical sides of the subject.
