A casual Magic: The Gathering Commander night meetup for fans to learn the game and meet others; cards provided.
R-CADE is hosting another Magic: The Gathering casual games night on Thursday 22 October, from 6pm to 10pm. It's a casual Commander night, so the focus is on the multiplayer format rather than a competitive tournament. The whole point is just to get people together to play, learn the game, and meet other fans, and you don't need any prior knowledge to join in.
If you've never played, that's fine. Cards are provided on the night, and there are loan decks available for anyone who doesn't own their own, so you can turn up without a thing and still get a game going. It's as much for people who have never seen a Magic card as it is for those who've been playing for years.
The venue itself is worth a mention if you haven't been. R-CADE is a retro-gaming spot in Glasgow's East End, built for gamers of all ages. Its custom arcade cabinets house home consoles from across the last five decades — Atari and Binatone, Nintendo, Sega, PlayStation and Xbox — with more than 2,000 games across more than 20 consoles. There's an on-site cafe too, with over 300 board games to play all day, along with hot drinks, snacks and hot food. The venue runs quiet retro sessions for all ages on Thursday afternoons, and over-18s nights that open up the arcade's specialised table-top party games.

This Magic night is one of those over-18s sessions, so the venue is 18+ after 7pm. It's £3 to play, and if you can't make this one, there's another date on 5 November. It runs from 6pm to 10pm at R-CADE, 121 Saltmarket, Glasgow City Centre G1 5LF.
